A little history of ourselves, We have holidayed in Cyprus for over 16 years, and know the Island quite well, why did we decide to stay? when we found we were returning 5 times a year, and were coming up to retirement, we thought " what better place to live" warm winters and lowish prices, excellent low cost rental/purchase properties, and generally a safer and more relaxing way of life, compared to the U.K. We have made friends locally and enjoy a better social life. We meet our friends regularly for light bite lunch at favorite tavernas, also Sunday lunchtime at out of the way places for exquisite Buffet style meals, at many of or regular haunts it is not unusual to be offered complimentary liqueurs or coffee, nice tradition in Cyprus.

There is a well known saying in Cyprus that you should think about," Brains on the runway" when you arrive don't leave them there, it is too easy to get caught up in the euphoria of arriving, "think carefully before committing to anything", remember you are not on Holiday now but living here day by day, this means, doing all the same things you did at home, shopping, cooking, washing, cleaning, but best of all, doing it in a wonderful environment with the sun shining 360 days a year ( so they say) and making new friends.
